After 18 months in my first job after university I became increasingly aware of the fact that I had rushed into the wrong job. I imagine that this is a dilemma that faces many a recent graduate that is thrown into the ‘real world’ without really knowing where their strengths, or even interests, lie. Seeing my trouble, a friend who had faced a similar problem suggested that I get in touch with Shan who had helped her enormously.
I should confess that I was initially very sceptical. How could it be that a stranger could know more about what I would be good at or enjoy than me? The answer, of course, is that she doesn’t. What she can do is very quickly work out (even before your first meeting!) certain aspects of your personality and interests that will give her and yourself insight into the types of work that might be suitable.
Before I went to Shan I had looked at many of the more predictable graduate jobs but after our first meeting I soon realized how narrow-minded I was being. All of a sudden I was able to look at a list of potential careers that genuinely felt exciting as I knew deep down that they were so much more right for me than the job titles I had been looking at previously that only made me sigh and give up.
Four months after meeting Shan, I was in a position to leave my old job and have since started working for a new company in a role that is not only challenging and rewarding but infinitely more exciting.
I would definitely recommend Shan to anybody that felt they were in a similar predicament.
She simply adored you and found it so helpful. I cannot thank you enough.
Thank you so much for our first session. It was a real pleasure, and I felt I gained a lot, both with respect to insight about myself, but also how to approach a career change. I felt inspired.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your guidance. It was very interesting (and reassuring!) that this opportunity matches with your findings. Thank you again for all your help and advice, it was, and still is, greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for all your help and guidance, it has certainly invigorated my job hunt and made clear exactly what I want to do!
I enjoyed meeting you enormously, I felt such a sense of relief afterwards. I am also so pleased to have other good alternative options to my present role. Half the battle is learning what else is out there! I’m sure I will need your advice for many years to come! Thank you so much for all help, it was such a comfort during the struggle.
After spending just two hours with you I left with a renewed confidence and a sense of excitement that there was a world of opportunities open to me. It was particularly refreshing to discuss possibilities that had never occurred to me. Our session was so absorbing that time flew by, a credit to the ease and comfort I felt in your company. It was a thoroughly worthwhile experience and one that I would recommend to anybody seeking careers advice.
Thank you SO much for our coaching sessions. I really enjoyed meeting you and you have helped me so much to feel positive again!
This is so exciting, thank you!
What I don’t think I realised was how valuable these sessions would prove to be, both to specific staff and to our business!
Your very professional demeanor blends exceptionally well with your warmth, compassion and sense of fun. It means that your coaching sessions have become a highly desirable and sought-after commodity within our business.
Your ability to get under the skin of our business and our team is proving a very valuable tool and I am delighted that our relationship looks set to continue …. Indefinitely I hope!

I had the privilege of working with Shan against a very clear objective: to achieve promotion to the next level in my career. Shan took the time to understand how I like to work and in turn which coaching methods to apply against our objective. Her coaching equipped me with new perspectives in my day-to-day work and these were backed up with solid techniques to help me shine. The objective was achieved and I very much look forward to working with Shan to continue my career progression.
There’s no doubt in my mind that our sessions were pivot moments where I decided to take back control. So thank you, it made a big difference and yes, I’m in a MUCH better frame of mind
I have really enjoyed our sessions over the years Shan. Your advice and words of wisdom have been invaluable.
I honestly can’t thank you enough for all your help. I am so excited now and it’s given me such a boost of confidence
I have been so impressed by the exceptional quality of thought and sensitivity and emotional intelligence you bring to everything you do.
I would like to thank Shan. My work and personal life is calmer, happier and I feel more comfortable in my own skin now. None of this would have been possible without Shan’s guidance. There has been much I have worked through and I will ensure I regularly use my ‘personal’ coaching toolbox to continue to develop.
I have been reflecting on my coaching sessions. What was so helpful about the process was that it forced me to think about things in a very different way. I liked the fact that I had to face some uncomfortable truths about myself, as well as being encouraged to acknowledge my strengths. This resulted in a bit of realism as well! I liked the way you held me to account. Ultimately, any changes in my life can only be made by me but your encouragement and support has enabled me to take some bigger steps.
Two months ago I was sitting at home, aged 56, at a bit of a crossroads in my life and wondering what the hell was next!
I had prioritised that I needed to find a job, as that ticked a lot of boxes, but had no idea what I wanted to do or how to go about doing it! I have no qualifications and felt rather powerless and unmotivated with how to go forward.
I had vaguely heard that Shan helped young people leaving university do some sort of test to see where their interests were and how that might lead them into the work place and so I thought this might be a good way to start and move myself forward.
Two months on, having done the assessments, had two lengthy sessions with Shan, plus numerous telephone calls, I am now in the rather astonishing situation of having found what I want to do, and booked a course to get my qualification.
Shan was simply wonderful. Kind, understanding, supportive and her zest for what she does is contagious and I now find myself motivated, excited and really looking forward to the next year of training and to my new future. If anyone had told me two months ago that I would be in this situation, I would not have believed them and I am here, solely due to the effort and above and beyond support that I got from Shan. Thank you.
Thank you Shan
You have been an inspiration to me ….. And have set me up forever.
I feel confident and healthy and vibrant too.
Thanks for the sessions, they have been brilliant. I’m much more happy in my head as I now have a clear direction to focus on. It was also just great to be around such positive energy about my future and I’m feeling excited about moving on to the next phase now.
